Immunity booster

This is my go to when it feels like a bug is trying to get a hold of me.

Benefits

  • As a smoothie, ingredients are broken down, so less digestion (work) for our body and it can focus on getting those buggers.

  • Lots of nutrients and ingredients known to support our immune system in getting the job done! Like vitamin C, ginger, coconut water with natural electrolytes and the crazy benefits of dark leafy greens!

  • And it’s yummy! For those afraid of the green color, you can’t taste the green! I promise!

Ingredients (for 2 servings)

  • 1/4 pineapple (minus the rind)

    • I like to freeze fresh cut pineapples or you could buy frozen (for more of a smoothie consistency)

  • 3 kale leaves (remove stems)

    • I like lacinato kale - the darker the green, the better. Or any other dark leafy green

  • 1 whole large orange (peeled)

  • 1 inch of ginger (peeled)

    • I like at least 2” for the punch

  • 1 cup coconut water

I’ve played a lot with the ingredients; dependent on the day. So play!

Directions

  1. Add all to a blender

  2. Blend well to a smooth consistency

Important Consideration

Quality of your blender may make a big difference in your smoothie experience. Mine blends to a completely smooth state and is older than my youngest 20-something year old son. (After a while, I only count the decades ;) May be worth the investment.
